Bulletin 132-75 The California State Water Project in 1975
California Department of Water Resources (DWR) | June 30th, 1975
1974 was the first full year of operation along the entire 444-mile California Aqueduct. Throughout the year the Project achieved its objectives of del ivering water needed for agriculture, municipal ities, and industry, as well as providing recreation and flood control benefits for the people of California. Two major steps were taken in 1974 which will affect completion of the Project to its full potential and assure that all of Cal ifornia’s existing water developments wi II be used to the maximum extent practicable. These were the issuance of the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Peripheral Canal and Bulletin No. 160-74, “The California Water Plant-Outlook in 1974”. These documents are key building blocks in the continuing studies to assure that future water management decisions will meet the needs of the people.
