WEBINAR: Groundwater Control for Construction Projects

October 28, 2020 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

This GRA webinar will give you an understanding of how groundwater control plays a key part in many construction and tunneling projects. The presentation will discuss groundwater problems that may be encountered in excavations, including running sands, excessive ground loss, base heave and collapse of excavations, resulting in additional costs and time delays.

The background to the more commonly used methods of groundwater control and dewatering will be presented, including techniques used for groundwater control by pumping (sump pumping, wellpoints, deep wells, ejector wells) and for groundwater control by exclusion (cut-off walls, grouting, artificial ground freezing).

This webinar is intended for anyone working in on below ground engineering projects — hydrogeologists, engineering geologists, civil engineering consultants and contractors.
