Groundwater Replenishment System Virtual Tour

September 11, 2020 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm

The Groundwater Replenishment System (GWRS) is the world’s largest water purification system for indirect potable reuse. The system takes highly treated wastewater that would have previously been discharged into the Pacific Ocean and purifies it to high-quality water that meets or exceeds all state and federal drinking water standards.

Educating the public about advanced wastewater purification is important to garnering support for future GWRS-like projects that are being planned around the world.

Virtual tours of the GWRS are held the first Friday of every month at 10 a.m. (unless otherwise noted) and last approximately 1.5 hours.
